-mente Adding “-mente” to a word is equivalent to the English suffix “-ly” Especial = Special *Especialmente = Especially Fácil = easy *Fácilmente = easily

Adding “-ado” or “-ido” to the end of a verb forms the past participle, which can be used as adjectives. Congelar = to freeze *Congelado = frozen

Tostar = to toast *tostado= toasted Derretir = to melt *Derretido = melted Picar = to chop, to dice *Picado = chopped, diced Hervir = to boil *hervido = boiled
