Affirmative Tú Commands Affirmative commands are used to tell someone to do something Affirmative tú commands are used with a friend or a family member Affirmative tú commands are formed by putting the verb in third person singular: Limpia la mesa.Clean the table. Lava los platos.Wash the dishes. Abre la puerta.Open the door.

Of course some verbs have irregular command forms: decirdi (Tell,Say)Di la verdad. Tell the truth. hacerhaz (Do, Make)Haz la tarea.Do the homework. irve (Go)Ve a la pizarra.Go to the board. ponerpon (Put, Place)Pon la mesa.Set the table. sersé(Be)Sé bueno.Be good. salirsal(Leave)Sal ahora.Leave now. tenerten(Have)Ten cuidado.Be careful venirven (Come)Ven a casa.Come home.

Translate: 1. Sweep the floor. 2. Take out the trash. 3. Put the decorations in the living room. 4. Make the bed. 5. Come here. 6. Go to the store. 7. Close the door. 8. Say something. 9. Be happy. 10. Clean the kitchen.

Affirmative Tú Commands with direct object pronouns If you use a direct object pronoun with an affirmative tú command, attach the pronoun to the end of the command. ¿Dónde pongo los regalos ?Where do I put the gifts ? Pon los en la mesa.Put them on the table. Di me. Tell me. Add an accent mark when attaching a pronoun to a command of two or more syllables. ¿Cierro la ventana ?Do I close the window ? Sí, ciérra la.Yes, close it. ¿Debo cocinar la cena ahora?Should I cook the dinner now? Sí, cocína la ahora.Yes, cook it now.
