3 The Louvre The Louvre in Paris, France, is the most visited and one of the oldest, largest, and most famous art galleries and museums in the world. The Louvre has a long history of artistic and historic conservation. The building was previously a royal palace and holds some of the world's most famous works of art. Located in the centre of the city of Paris, between the Rive Droite of the Seine and the rue de Rivoli in the Ier arrondissement, it is accessed by the Palais Royal — Musée du Louvre Metro station. With 8.3 million visitors in 2006, the Louvre is the most visited art museum in the world. Play Video

4 Notre Dame de Paris Notre Dame de Paris, known simply as Notre Dame in English, is a Gothic cathedral on the eastern half of the Île de la Cité in Paris, France, with its main entrance to the west. It is still used as a Roman Catholic cathedral and is the seat of the Archbishop of Paris. Notre Dame de Paris is widely considered one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture. Notre Dame translates as "Our Lady" from French.

5 Arc de Triomphe The Arc de Triomphe is a monument in Paris that stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle, also known as the Place de l'Étoile (Star Square). It is at the western end of the Champs-Élysées. The arch honours those who fought for France, particularly during the Napoleonic Wars, and today also includes the tomb of the unknown soldier. The monument stands over 51 meters (165 ft) in height and is 45 meters wide.

6 The Eiffel Tower The Parisian landmark is the tallest structure in Paris and one of the most recognized structures in the world and is named after its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel. 6,719,200 people visited the tower in 2006 and more than 200,000,000 since its construction. This makes the tower the most visited paid monument in the world per year. Including the 24 m (79 ft) antenna, the structure is 324 m (1,063 ft) high (since 2000), which is equivalent to about 81 levels in a conventional building.

7 Food and Drink in Paris Paris is famous for it’s excellent restaurants and street cafes. Why not try a croissant with coffee in a street café while the world go past? Or alternatively, sip a glass of fine red wine with a superb meal from one of the Michelin starred restaurants along the River Seine.
