23/02/04 4 Overall objective To analyse and support the introduction of Open Data Standards and Open Source Software in European PAs Focus is on personal productivity and office automation applications (e.g. OpenOffice.org, desktop Linux)

23/02/04 5 Research Interoperability: –With legacy systems/DataBases –Across platforms (Windows, Linux, Mac) –Web accessibility –Data standards Cost/benefit analysis: –In which contexts is it possible to deploy OS? –Is it convenient ()? –Will we be able to offer the same level of service to users/citizens?
