2. Semana Santa (holy week) Spain celebrates Easter week more than any other European countries, because Easter is a Christian holiday. Semana Santa starts on Domingo de Ramos (Palm Sunday) and ends with Easter Monday. The week consists of Ash Wednesday and Lent and Good Friday. People carry around statues of saints on floats or wooden platforms. In some places marchers wear clothes that reminiscent those of the Klu Klux Klan.

3. Importance The importance of Easter is the birth of Jesus Christ. In Spain they have a whole week to celebrate his birth. During this week the also celebrate his death and promise of external life.
