1.  The following verbs are totally irregular in the preterite. You will just need to memorize all their forms:  Ser  Ir  Dar  Hacer  Decir  Traer

2.  There is another kind of irregular verb in the preterite. These have irregular roots you will need to memorize, but all use the same endings.

4.  Adnar (to walk)  anduv-  Estar (to be)  estuv-  Tener (to receive/get)  tuv-  Caber (to fit)  cup-  Haber (have…(not the normal “to have” actually used like to have done something))  hub-  Poder (to succeed)  pud-  Poner (to put/place)  pus-  Saber (to find out)  sup-  Querer (to try)  quis-  Venir (to come)  vin-

5.  Yo te dije la verdad aquel día.  I told you the truth that day.  Ellos pusieron el traje en la mesa.  They put the suit on the table.

6.  Get a laptop!  If you want to speed up the login and use it like a chromebook use a guest login:  Guest login:./guest  Password: [none] ▪ So that is period, backslash, guest for the log in and don't enter anything in password.

7.  Some verbs have different meanings in the preterite and imperfect.  You don’t need to worry about that for now beyond knowing the ones on this sheet.  We’ll discuss them in more detail when we get to the imperfect.
