The following verbs are totally irregular in the preterite. You will just need to memorize all their forms: Ser Ir Dar Hacer Decir Traer

There is another kind of irregular verb in the preterite. These have irregular roots you will need to memorize, but all use the same endings.

Some verbs have different meanings in the preterite and imperfect. You don’t need to worry about that for now beyond knowing the ones on this sheet. We’ll discuss them in more detail when we get to the imperfect.
