TEMPLE OF APHRODITE
11
1 COR. 1:2 To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ-- their Lord and ours:
12
1 COR. 6:18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.
13
1 COR. 6:19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;
14
1 COR. 6:20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
15
1 COR. 10:13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
16
CAUTION AGAINST TEMPTATION 1 COR 10:1- 12
17
1 COR. 10:12 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall!
18
1 COR. 10:1 For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers, that our forefathers were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea.
19
1 COR. 10:2 They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea.
20
1 COR. 10:3 They all ate the same spiritual food
21
1 COR. 10:4 and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.
22
1 COR. 10:5 Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered over the desert.
23
1 COR. 10:6 Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did.
24
1 COR. 10:7 Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written: "The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in pagan revelry."
25
1 COR. 10:8 We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did--and in one day twenty- three thousand of them died.
26
1 COR. 10:9 We should not test the Lord, as some of them did--and were killed by snakes.
27
1 COR. 10:10 And do not grumble, as some of them did-- and were killed by the destroying angel.
28
1 COR. 10:11 These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come.
29
1 COR. 10:12 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall!

QUOTE “... where the antipathy to sin is directed against only one known sin, and not to all sins and to sin as sin, the dominion of sin continues. ‘Whatever impeacheth the universality of obedience in one thing overthrows its sincerity in all things.’ Sinclair B Ferguson, John Owen on the Christian Life, p. 128

COMMONNESS OF TEMPTATION 1 COR 10:13a
34
1 COR. 10:13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

CONTROL OF TEMPTATION 1 COR 10:13b

QUOTE “One of the most attractive features of the early Christian communities was their radical sexual ethic and their deep commitment to family values. These things drew many people to them who were disillusioned by the promiscuous excesses of what proved to be a declining culture. Wouldn’t it be wonderful for our church to find such counter cultural courage today?” Joe Dallas, Strong Delusion, p. 229, quoting William Frey
