Who and What? The war started out between Germany and Russia Germany eventually declared war on France and Belgium Soon after, Great Britain and Italy joined and declared war on Germany (they were allies with Russia) American’s wanted to stay neutral in order to keep peace and insure trade WW1 Menu Extra- Click on the picture for more information about who /what countries took part in WW1.

When and Where? The war started in 1914 in Europe America entered the war on April 6, 1917 The major battles took place in Germany The war ended on June 28, 1918 with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles WW1 Menu

Why? There are many factors of why the war started The German’s were using trench warfare and eventually introduced unrestricted submarine warfare The German’s sunk a United States neutral ship- This is why the U.S. entered the war WW1 Menu

World War 2 started when Nazi Germany invaded Poland The U.S. was forced into the war by Japan The U.S. most important allies were Great Britain and the Soviet Union Japan’s allies were Germany and Italy A major world event that occurred during World War 2 was The Holocaust- where thousands of Jews were killed because of their race in Germany WW2 Menu

The Civil War was fought between the United States and the Confederate States of America 11 states seceded from the Union and they called themselves “The Confederate States of America” Civil War Menu Click on the picture of the Confederate flag and write on a piece of paper the 11 seceded states for bonus points

The Civil War took place in the United States between the slave states (Confederates) and free states (Union) It started on April 12,1861 in Charleston, South Carolina with the Battle of Fort Sumter General Lee (Confederates) surrendered to General Grant on April 9, 1865 at the Appomattox courthouse Civil War Menu

Abraham Lincoln was elected in 1860 and the southern slave states were outraged because he had anti-slavery views Suddenly slave states were seceding from the union The U.S. kept their troops stationed at Fort Sumter, which was within confederate territory When the U.S. refused to remove their troops, the confederates opened fire– starting the war Civil War Menu
