Our family wants to watch that movie. My brother will ask to go with his friends. The athlete lifts weights to become stronger.

5 Present Participle Present tense Uses a helping verb like is, am, are
Add -ing to most verbs Examples: walk  pat  love  fry 

6 Examples: I am typing my research paper. He is eating lunch.
We are waiting in line. They are talking about the dance. You are making spaghetti for dinner.

7 Past Tense Past Add -ed to most verbs Examples: walk  pat  love 

8 Examples: Lucy asked for more carrots.
Mrs. Peters assigned some math homework. I looked through a magazine.
