Lesson Objectives SWBAT identify and explain Emperor Hirohito’s reason for Japanese surrender in World War II. SWBAT analyze the terms of the Instrument of Surrender and discuss how it brought and end to World War II. SWBAT hypothesize why the Allies made concessions for Japan in the Instrument of Surrender, rather than demanding Japan’s unconditional surrender.
