2. Role of women in Afghanistan  In the past women did not have much right, and usually in Afghanistan, they were like property, to men. They belonged to a man and they had to stay home and take care of children, cook, wash cloths and etc..  Men believed that women did not have the mental and physical strength to handle the world and should be placed out of the harms way.  Even though men had all the power women made 60% of the teachers at the schools were women, and 50% of the students were women, and 40% were doctors, but all of the percentages were before the Taliban takeover. But all of those rights got taken over, because of the sexist Taliban religious observation.

3. Role of women in Afghanistan cont.  Now after the Taliban takeover women had to cover them self’s head to toe, and if they didn’t cover themselves correctly they would get beaten. Men were the ones who discipline and beat there wife's, instead of protecting them.  Taliban takeover toke the ability for women to have education and jobs too, and women were forced to marry and do house work, and if they didn’t do the house work correctly, they were beaten.  Women were also forbidden to speak in public, they were not even aloud to leave their house without a male relative with them, and the window of the houses had to be painted so the women could not be seen.

4. Role of women in Afghanistan cont.  Women were not and even little girls, were not aloud to speak to other males that were not relatives.  Health and healthcare was not even provide for women or girls, because male doctors did not care about women and did not wanted to treat them.

5. Rights and Restrictions  Women did not have rights to communicate with other men and they were, basically, isolated, however they had the right to communicate together. So some women gathered together some of the times with their friends to talk, but only for a short period of time. DEB RIECHMANN  Women were getting abused a lot. “The Afghanistan Independent Human Rights commission recorded more than 4,000 cases of violence against women from March 21 to October 21, but most were not reported to police.” (DEB RIECHMANN)

6. Political changes in Afghanistan  If there is going to be any changes to Afghanistan politically, the first thing should be that it should have more rights for women, and women should be able to have their own voice and be more freer.  Second they should not be abused. They should be able to fight back who ever is hitting them.  Third should be that men should only be able to have one wife and they have to stay together unless if both of them want a divorse.

7. Political changes in Afghanistan cont.  The changes that happened politically to Afghanistan is now women have more power, but the women that are more old school still don’t believe that they have it and still get abused and don’t speak up.  Several years of pain and misery turns out and make united state speak up, so people from the US came and helped women with education, income, political participation, and freedom of voice.  That is still going on till today and makes people want to help, so people put their heads together and try to come up with something to help the women.

9. Women’s clothing This is and example of what women have to wear to be secure and not get beaten.

10. Example education  This is an example of what education looks like in Afghanistan. There are very little supplies and room, but for the boys they have a lot more room and supplies.
