2 What Is A Poem? A Poetry is a form of writing that can be organized in many ways. Poetry can rhyme or they can be unrhymed. Poetry is a way to express yourself through writing.

3 How Can We Begin to Create a Poem? We can BRAINSTORM!
Make a list of topics that you are interested in. Read other poems. Ask other students; your teacher and parent’s to help you gather topics

4 I have a topic, now what should I do next? Start Drafting!
Write the first thing that comes to your mind. Try to use some words that rhyme to get started. Use pictures if you can’t think of anything to write.

I have my draft! What what should I do next? I can put sensory details into my writing! Paint a picture for your audience by adding sensory words. Act out your poem. Pretend you are making a movie.

6 I have added sensory details. What is next? Revise your poem!
Make sure your ideas are related. Write neatly or word process. Get feedback from your peers or teachers.

7 Let's Review Poetry can be versed or unversed.
Brainstorming is the first step when generating ideas. Using sensory details will bring life to your poem Revisions should be made after feedback from the teacher or your peers. Poetry is a great to express yourself!
