Hideki Tojo: Pearl Harbor There was a major war conflict between Japan and China. Japan wanted to expand it’s boarders and gain protection from China. At first, the United States was aiding Japan in their efforts but then began selling weapons and supplies to China. The U.S. did not agree with Japans efforts against China and began to decrease economic support for their war.

Hideki Tojo For years, Tojo was seen as a hero. But after the Battle of Midway and the fall of Saipan, he was forced to resign on July 18, 1944. After Japans surrender in 1945, America demanded the arrest of Tojo and several other war criminals.
