A hemoglobinometry is medical measuring device of hemoglobin blood concentration sush as sahli's Hemoglobinometer. Prepared by Abeer Alhabash
5
To determine the haemoglobin content of RBCs in a given blood sample by haemometer. Prepared by Abeer Alhabash
6
The principle in Sahli's method involves the conversion of haemoglobin to acid hematin by the action of HCL Prepared by Abeer Alhabash
7
Tools Haemometer Distilled water Alcohol blood lancet Hydrochloric acid dilute (0.1 N) Prepared by Abeer Alhabash
8
Experimental method Prepared by Abeer Alhabash
9
1- Put 5 drops of HCL ( 0.1 N) by pipette in the graduated tub. Prepared by Abeer Alhabash
10
2- By blood lancet, obtain a good sized drops of blood from finger. Suck up the blood by the capillary tube till the 0.02 ml tube mark and transfer the blood into the mixing tube. Prepared by Abeer Alhabash
11
3- Blow the blood from the capillary tube into the graduated tube with the acid solution. Prepared by Abeer Alhabash
12
4-Rinse the capillary tube with distill water and add it to the mixture (blood and acid) after the reaction is complete, indicated by the formation of a brownish color. Prepared by Abeer Alhabash
13
5-Shake well and add distalled water drop by drop and mix well. When the color in the graduated tube matches that of the reference tube (standard tube), read the result from the scale. Prepared by Abeer Alhabash
14
The haemoglobin content = ……..gm/100ml of blood Result Prepared by Abeer Alhabash
15
Normal level of haemoglobin: In male 14 – 16 gml/ 100ml of blood. In femal 12 -14 gm / 100 ml of blood. Prepared by Abeer Alhabash
