Simplifying Polynomials 14-2 You can simplify a polynomial by adding or subtracting like terms. Remember that like terms have the same variables raised to the same powers. 4a 3 b 2 + 3a 2 b 3 – 2a 3 b 2 Like terms Not like terms The variables have the same powers.
