In Spanish all nouns belong to 2 gender categories: Masculine (masculino) or Feminine (feminina) 2

Masculine 0 el helado Masculine nouns USUALLY end in -0. el helado Feminine nouns USUALLY end in - a. la fruta 3

Singular nouns name 1 of something. the girl the student the apple Plural nouns name more than 1 of something. the girls the students the apples 4

If a noun ends in a VOWAL (a,e,i,o,u) ADD “s” to make it plural. muchacho muchachos If a singular noun ends in a CONSONANT (r,l,n..) ADD “es” to make it plural. trabajador trabajadores 5

Definite Articles When we want to say “the” in Spanish, we use Definite Articles. Definite Articles change according to the gender of the noun and according to whether the noun is singular or plural. 7
