Trip to London 2013 Elise Michaux Julie Lamquembe Emma Bourdit

Welcome London ! The travel started on wednesday morning at 5am45 !We left school by coach to the ParisNorth Station ! All the class was very exited and restless. When we arrived at the station, we expected the train for approximately 30 minutes. After that, the train arrived and the class went into it. It was a little the panic in our wagon and noisy. At last everybody found their sit in the train and let's go to London! In the train, all the pupils found an occupation: listening to music, playing games, chatting, or reading books. After 2hours and 30 minutes we finally arrived in London at 9am. Then, we walked a little in london to expect the coach. We immediately liked london because of the buildings, people, and the architecture was different from what we were used to. And we immediately saw symbols of London: red buses, telephone booths... All the class played the tourists with cameras. After 30 minutes, the coach finally arrived. It made a little tour of London and we saw lots of monuments of London. The tour was super and we really liked this city. First Day : Morning

The changing of the guard After that, we went to the changing of the Guard in front of Buckingham palace. It was awesome, and there were lots of people! The morning was already finished. It was lunch time! We went to Saint-James Park near Buckingham palace for lunch. The teacher left us on a free time. Everyone ate in a corner of the park with their friends. It was a good time with our friends to speak of our first day and of our first impressions. This first morning in London was awesome! First day : morning

Tate modern Thursday's morning, we visited the Tate Modern. Tate modern is a modern art gallery located in London. It's Britain's national gallery of international modern art and forms part of the Tate group. It is the most-visited modern art gallery in the world, with around 4,7 million visitors per year. It is based in the former Bankside Power Station, in the bankside area of central London. We saw many interesting and strange works. In the first place, the Tate Modern gallery was an old factory, and works are situated into the chimney. I like this idea, it's nice but I don't like modern art, because it is too strange and not so beautiful for me. 2 nd Day : morning

Billy Elliott The second day in the afternoon, we saw Billy Elliot, The musical. The musical performance was at Victoria Palace Theater in London. It was composed by Elton John and written by Lee Hall, based on the Billy Elliot film directed by Stephen Daldry in 2000. The story takes place in County Durham, England, during the miners' strikes of 1984 and 1985 following the reforms proposed by Margaret Thatcher. Billy, a boy aged 11, is training to box, as is his father. One day, he lingers in the gym after his boxing classes and participate in a ballet class under the leadership of Miss Wilkinson. Thereafter, he ceases to attend boxing classes for which it has no taste and is the only boy dancing lessons in secret from his father. Thinking that he has talent, Miss Wilkinson encouraged to audition at the Royal Ballet School in London against the advice of his family. It was a very nice musical. We never saw that and it was really great ! We loved it so much ! The costumes were fabulous, the decorations were beautiful. We could see Billy Elliot's room leave the floor when necessary. The show was wonderful ! Voices, dancers and everything on this musical was wonderful. 2 nd Day : afternoon

Museum of London The Museum of London is a museum in London (United Kingdom), founded in 1976, dedicated to the history of the British capital Paleolithic until today. The museum is located in a 1970s building near the Barbican Centre, 10 minutes walk north of St Paul's Cathedral. Entry is free. 7 Covent Garden ! Welcome to Covent Garden, one of the areas of the most fabulous city ! In the Middle Ages, the current park was a vegetable fields called convent garden: it provided food to least near Convent of St. Peter in Westminster. We went to this fantastic area. Here we did shopping. We had 2h30 of free time and here, there were lots of shops. Covent Garden is famous for its outdoor cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops. The street artists are also very famous and entertain visitors who walk the pedestrian path. At the basement between tables in an amateur string orchestra played Little Night Music by Leopold Mozart. It's often at the Covent Garden London come together to go to the theater or opera, have a drink, shop or just hang out. It's also the area of theaters, opera and dance. In short, we really liked this area, it was very funny and shops were fabulous. 3rd Day : afternoon
