The Inca Empire was the largest empire in pre-Columbian America, and was located in modern day Peru.

Before the arrival of the Spanish in Peru, Incas are dying from smallpox, which reaches them from Central America.

In 1529, Francisco Pizarro (from Spain) is granted permission to conquer Peru. Pizarro and 168 Spanish men arrive in Peru in 1532.
