5 Cost 2 out of 10 commonwealth budget $ go to education For students is free Breakfast and lunch is free

6 Uniforms Puerto Rican schools require uniforms They can be found in mall stores.

7 Courses studied Students not allowed to pick courses Middle school courses include sex education High school courses have advanced placement in Spanish, English and Math

8 Others In private schools students are taught only in English for every subject Puerto Rican school system is poor compared to the U.S Since 1999 there are 569 private schools and 1532 public schools 60% of the population have a high school degree and 18.3 have a bachelor degree 50 institution of higher education 4 medicine and 4 law school
