5. Impacts of Migration on Environmental Issues Population growth in the United States is more of a threat to the Earth's environment than population growth in any other part of the world. At this moment, at least almost 2 million legal and illegal immigrants live in the United States each year; with the average Hispanic/Latin woman giving birth to 3 children in her lifetime.
