Classic and New VD4 Introduction / General An innovative concept for the maintenance new VD4 has an actuator with a plug-in snapping-unit just replacing the snapping-unit the c.breaker is basically a new c.breaker new VD4 is the first MV circuit-breaker offering this feature removal and mounting of the snapping-unit requires only 20 min. the replacement operation is more reliable then any maintenance operating life of the snapping unit up to 31.5 kA 17.5 kV (25 kA 24 kV) : today: 10,000 operations already certified today: 20,000 operations satisfactory carried-out within 4Q 2003: 30,000 operations Confirm overall economic outlook.
