Background Information Surgeon Mapping We are trying to answer the question: What percentage of the population has access to safe surgery and anesthesia, when needed? ●There are multiple assumptions that are being used in order to answer this question in a meaningful way ●Given realities of data availability, the plan is to initially focus on surgeon-provider locations and count populations that live within two-hours of road access ●We are using the NASA/Columbia University SEDAC Population Estimation Tool to calculate populations and Google Maps to identify 2-hour driving ranges
