Equipment of the SEM-EDS lab at the UB-FMG: JEOL JSM-6610LV Magnification: X 5-300.000 Guns: W filament, LaB 6 ; Accelerating voltage 0.3-30 kV Vacuum system: Rotary pump + turbomolecular pump (included in basic instrument), Sputter Ion pump (for LaB 6 ) Rotary pump for LV (10-270 Pa) Detectors: SE detector (Everhart-Thornley detector) BSE detector EDS detector (X-Max Large Area Analytical Silicon Drift connected with INCAEnergy 350 Microanalysis System); EDS detector (X-Max Large Area Analytical Silicon Drift connected with INCAEnergy 350 Microanalysis System); Z ≥ 6; d.l. 0.1 – 0.2 wt.% CL detector Sample chamber: Specimen movement: 5-axes (X, Y, Z, T, R) Maximal sample size: 20 cm (wide), 8 cm (thicknes), 1 kg (weight) Two IR cameras Micro-analytical standards : 64 natural minerals and synthetic compounds Sputter coating device (LEICA SCD005) for Au and C.
