2 What are SATs? National tasks and tests
Key Stage 1 – 7 year olds Key Stage 2 – 11 year olds National measure of each child’s attainment Means of judging the success of a school.

3 Measuring Success Children are assessed in reading, writing, speaking and listening, mathematics and science The emphasis is on teacher judgement The children are assessed throughout the year Tasks & tests are used to inform final teacher judgements.

11 Children with Special Needs
P levels are used for children with special educational needs who will not achieve a level 1.

12 How can you be sure we are levelling correctly?
Teachers use level descriptors from the National Curriculum Teachers work together to level work Judgements are moderated by the Leadership Team and by the Local Authority.

13 Reporting The school is required to report results for all children to the Local Authority Results will be shared in your child’s end of year report.

14 How you can help your child
Support homework activities Praise and encourage your child’s efforts Ask advice from your childs class teacher/s Ensure good attendance and punctuality
