What is the usefulness of each object?

10. Writing Task
Write a diary entry imagining you are Brian on the day he retrieves the survival pack. Remember to focus on his feelings and thoughts.

Other editions of Hatchet don’t include the epilogue. Why do you think Paulsen chose to include it in this version? Do you think the story works better with or without it? Why?
