1 Tracking Laboratory Tests LAB for Non-Laboratorians Resource Patient Management System

2 Session Objectives Track laboratory testing by using: Incomplete test list. Order test status. Accession List by Date report. Review by Order Number. Lookup Accession. EHR Orders and Lab tabs.

3 Incomplete test list Run daily for all accession areas Required tests remain on the incomplete test status list so that accessioned test results are not overlooked. Non-required tests do not display on the incomplete test status list. Allows the tracking of outstanding test results

4 Incomplete test list (cont.) To run the Incomplete test list: From the Main Laboratory Menu in RPMS Select Option: 3 Process data in lab menu... Select: MP Misc. Processing Menu... Select: Incomplete test status report Select: ACCESSION AREA: SEND-OUT Indicate the printer to print the report.

6 Lookup Accession Requires an Accession number or UID Displays all tests ordered on the Accession Number Shows dates and times for Ordered, Collected and Lab Arrival Provides the Patient HRCN and the Collecting location Gives the ordering providers name Will show comments associated to the order Provides the collection sample type and the Order Number

7 Lookup Accession (cont.) To run the Lookup Accession: From the Main Laboratory Menu in RPMS Select Option: 2 Accessioning menu... Return to the bottom of the menu Type in a portion of “Lookup accession” i.e LOOK Type in the Accession number or UID number

9 Order/test status Displays a specific patient’s orders based on date Shows the current status of testing with the date Provides the accession and the order number Displays comments associated with the order

10 Order/test status (cont.) To run the Order/test status: From the Main Laboratory Menu in RPMS Select Option: 2 Accessioning menu... Return to the bottom of the menu Type in a portion of “Order/test status” i.e Order Type either apart of the entire patient name Input the DATE to begin review: Additional active orders can be reviewed by pressing the “Return” key

12 Accession list by date Allows the printing of pending accession numbers by accession area The report is generated by a date range Can be listed by (A) ccession number, (P)atient or (C)ollection Sample Displays if the test has not been verified “%” Displays the collection sample Generates minimal patient information

To run the Accession list by date: From the Core menu Select: IHS Short Accessioning Menu [RLAB] Select: IHS Short Accessioning Menu...[ACC] Select: Print accession list(s)... [PAL] Select: Accession list by date Input the ACCESSION AREA Input the Start with Date Input the Go back to Date TODAY Choose the type of List by
