Advantages of CADD CADD system greatly speeds the process of drawing and designing a floor plan Automatic wall generation, repetitive use of symbols, dimensioning features, and elimination of hand lettering cut the design and drafting time to a fraction You must still know the basics of design

Basic floor plan

Sheet rock

MY HOME

Drawing a floor plan The first step in designing a house is to determine the requirements of the structure and record them as preliminary sketches The rough sketches will provide direction for drawing the plan to scale You can manually draft a floor plan CADD greatly speeds up the process

CADD drafted floor plan

CADD Most generic CADD packages can be used to draw floor plan, but a package designed especially for architectural work is preferred Most have an extensive symbol library and dimension styles Some software includes an architectural font for lettering that can give the drawing a hand drawn appearance

Auto CADD

Drafted floor plan

Internet resource www.aia.org American institute of architects Site shows different job opportunities Helps further your education about architecture You can sign up for seminars and they have them online on the website called webinars
