E-submission submit as usual a hard copy of your assessed essay by the deadline 12.00 in addition submit in advance an e-copy departmental page for e-submission is http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/arts/german/esubmissions/ print and submit the e-mail receipt with your hard copy

The 50/50 Rule Minimum of 50% of all honours assessment must be taken by exam. 15 CAT modules Faust and Self & Others II (Travel) can only be taken by essay Language is double-weighted. Check with your PTs how many option modules you can do by essay

Degree classification The mean provisionally indicates the class: 70%(+) =1 (70-71 = borderline) 60-69.9%=2(1) 50-59.9%=2(2) 40-49.9%=3 35-39.9%= Pass degree

Borderline cases arise where the mean is within 2% of the class boundary: 68-69.9%; 58-59.9%; 48-49.9% not 33-34-9% Borderline criteria: performance above the class boundary in FY preponderance of marks above the class boundary (= 5 out of 8) performance above the class boundary in core modules

Degree classification cont. Mitigating circumstances Where a student’s performance has been adversely affected by certified mitigating circumstances these can be taken into account by the Board of Examiners All mitigating circumstances must be communicated to the Personal Tutor AND the Exam Secretary It is your responsibility to inform the Dept in time and with the necessary documentation!

Appeals A written appeal must be submitted within 10 days of the exam board Grounds for appeal: Procedural irregularity Discrimination Information about circumstances affecting performance not available to the exam board at the time of its meeting N.B NOT contesting individual module or essay mark

Monitoring Dept required to monitor student attendance Students required to fulfil 12 annual monitoring points (see UG handbook) Missing 6+ monitoring points results in report to university which may result in procedures of termination of registration Personal Tutor meeting in week 9/10 of summer term counts as one.

National Student Satisfaction Survey Conducted annually with Final Year Students Relates not to your degree but your managing department To be valid: minimum of 23 participants and 50% of cohort. University target last year: 75%
