The Rotary Engine Dr. Felix Heinrich Wankel (1902-1988) Born in Swabia Germany (Otto, Daimler, and Benz also came from Swabia). but there are proposals found for this type of engine as early as the year 1588. The rotary is most known today as the power plant for the Mazda RX-7 and RX-8 automobiles
