Director of Youth Ministries RLC
Principle Duties: The Youth Ministry Director provides personal leadership in developing and conducting a program in which youth experience: 1. worship in which the transforming power of God is experienced and opportunity is available for youth to respond with praise, thanksgiving, confession and dedication; 2. fellowship occasions, both regular meetings and special events which are fun and provide opportunity to know and be know by others; 3. participation in a small group which promotes sharing and accountability; 4. exposure to and participation in mission and service ministry beyond the local church; 5. leadership development: disciple and mentor teens for ministry and leadership (including participatory leadership of youth activities and organizations) and raise up effective mentors for youth and from the youth; and 6. preparation for serving as an “Ambassador of Christ” to others. The director will also: 1. teach the youth the basic tenets of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) Lutheran faith (in collaboration with Christian Education – especially in preparing Sunday morning youth activity) and how to apply these fundamental Christian values to life situations. He/ she (in collaboration with the Pastors) will help the youth establish Biblical guidelines for appropriate behavior and will model high standards and set a good example in the areas of relationships, commitment, follow through and responsible living; 2. recruit and train adult leaders to help in all areas of youth ministry; 3. foster networking among local churches

RLC -Youth committee-Adults
The RLC Youth Committee shall have general oversight of the life and activities of the Youth of this congregation, and in particular its worship life, to the end that everything be done in accordance with the Word of God and the faith and practice of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The duties of the Youth Committee shall include the following: a. To lead the youth in stating its mission, to do long-range planning, to set goals and priorities, and to evaluate its activities in light of its mission and goals. b. To seek to involve all members of this church and community youth in worship, learning, witness, service, and support. c. To oversee and provide for the administration of this churches youth program to enable it to fulfill its functions and perform its mission and principles of faith through stewardship of finances, time, and talent. d. To maintain supportive relationships with the pastor’s and staff and help them annually to evaluate the fulfillment of goals of youth ministry within RLC e. To be examples individually and corporately of the style of life and ministry expected of all baptized saints within the ELCA Church f. To promote a climate of peace and goodwill and as differences and conflicts arise, to endeavor to foster mutual understanding following the scriptural example of Matthew 18. g. To arrange for continuing youth ministries operations during the sickness or absence of the Director of Youth Ministries. h. To emphasize partnership with the synod and church-wide organization of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America as well as cooperation with other congregations, both Lutheran and non-Lutheran, subject to established policies of the synod and the ELCA.

Can God Use ME at RLC The question you asked yourself was "Can God use someone like me?" The answer is YES!! He can, He does, and He will use ordinary people to do extraordinary things so that He may get the glory. You don't have to have a special trait or skill or higher education. It's not about your abilities it's about your availability. It's not what you can do, it's about what God can do through you. DUTIES: To assist the Youth and Leadership by providing input about needs and activities that meet the interest of Teens in the church. To serve as ambassadors for Christ in school and your community.

Confirmation & Sunday School
This focus of ministry is occurring each Sunday morning at 9:45am. First opportunity is Confirmation- designed for middle school youth grades 6-8 led by confirmation teachers assigned by the church Second opportunity is Sunday School- for High school youth grades 9-12 led by the Director of Youth ministries or others as assigned by the church

Youth Group Meetings & Fellowships
RLC will provide regularly scheduled meetings times each month for the purpose of teaching and sharing the principles of the Christ centered life as we apply them to our daily life RLC will provide regularly scheduled fellowship opportunities for the purpose of developing the Body of Christ into a unit as we seek to interact with our friends, family, and community always looking toward growing into persons God will use in His plan for our lives To discover mission projects as we seek to serve our community and the world

SYNOD & Outreach RLC will participate in the SYNOD events throughout the calendar year designed for youth RLC will seek to provide opportunities to share our faith with others in efforts like summer vacation bible camp, etc. RLC will provide teens with retreats and local activities to encourage deeper understanding of God’s direction for our lives RLC will provide opportunities for service to all people as we become aware of possibilities for our ministry of Helps.

Music & Drama The Youth and Music & Worship Committees will work in tandem to develop the skills of our youth as used in Worship and Evangelism under the established name of MAGNIFY We will develop Christian musical and/or drama based programs to share the acquired skills of our youth for the primary purpose of enabling them to grow in experience toward the service of the Lord and His church. We may also receive offerings to be used for the entirety of the youth ministries at RLC and any missions efforts the teens decide to support
