Under 3 years:Nursery school 3 to 6 years: Prep- school 6 to 10 years: Primary school 11 to 14 years: Middle school 15 to 19 years: High school Classical Scientific Technical Vocational Higher education (4 to 6 years duration): Universities These are the age groups and educational Institutions.

This is the NURSeRY SCHOOL.
In the Nursery School children can play and participate in a lot of enjoying activities: drawing, playing football..and sleep too. This is the NURSeRY SCHOOL.

PRIMARY. The primary school, begins at six and continues for five years. Class sizes generally run from about twenty five children per class to a minimum of ten students. The curriculum includes: Italian, English, Geography, History, Math, Science, Technology, Music, Art, P.E., I T and Catholic Religion.

This is the description of: MIDDLE
All children are required to attend school from age six through sixteen with the compulsory age limit at 16. The next level is known as middle school. Class size is about 26 students per class. Core subjects are : Catholic Religion, Italian, English, and a second foreign language, History, Geography, Science, Math, IT, Drawing, Music and P.E. This is the description of: MIDDLE SCHOOL.

HIGH SCHOOL. Students must take and pass an exam before moving up to high school or liceo. Higher secondary school lasts five years until the student is eighteen or nineteen years old, but it’s compulsory till 16. The last three years of higher secondary school are voluntary . Students must make a choice about their education at an early age and choose the higher secondary school they want to attend.

Each higher secondary school is characterized by some core subjects either scientific or
humanities: Scientific Liceo Classic Liceo Foreign language Liceo School for Teachers Technical School Vocational School Now I’m going to tell you the various types of the higher secondary school.

At the end of the HIGH SCHOOL:
After completing the higher secondary school, students must pass another exam in order to receive their Diploma di Maturità. Once they have their diplomas, they either begin their careers in their professions or move on to the University. At the end of the HIGH SCHOOL:

ART SCHOOL. Art schools are further divided into: Artistic high school
Dance academy Conservatory National academy of dramatic arts. Once the student has chosen his or her field of study, they are rarely allowed to change their minds. ART SCHOOL.

After HIGH SCHOOL: Italy has forty two state universities,
six private universities, three technical universities and twelve specialized university institutes. Each university offers four main courses: university diploma, Bachelor of Arts/Science, research doctorate, and diploma of specialization.
