Parallelogram Inventor Assembly and analysis

Create a project

New project with new single user project. Save to student folder

Select Parallelogram as your project under single user…. You will need to set this as the current project under the manage folder

Create a part for each piece of the parallelogram Linkage Bar (2 req) *17-2-3 with Bearing (4 req) Pivot Pin (4 req) End Block (2 req) C Clips (8 req)

Bar What type of materials? Do a quick sketch of The bars. What can be used for bearings? Check out McMaster Carr or Grainger online for bearings that would fit. Can you download an inventor file or drawing of the bearing? Do so if available.

What type of material is the pin made out off? What do the + and – signs mean with numbers? Be able to explain the tolerances of the parts. What is the importance of tolerances? How does it effect the bottom line? What material is the block made out of for the parallelogram? Hidden lines indicate?

What do you think the clips are made out of and are they available on line? Find them if available and record the specs for the clips (material, price, properties, note vendor). What does “ customer to modify end blocks” mean?

What is a bill of materials? Note the assembly drawing to the right complete with a parts list. Yours should also have a parts list. You will submit a drawing for each major part. You will submit a parts list You will submit an assembly drawing. You will do some parts analysis. What are the results of the parts analysis? Create a short presentation file for the project showing articulation. You will show this to the class.
