5. Procedures There are two portions of this lab….. One with known solutions and another with mystery urine where you will be making a diagnosis on your patient.

6. Fill in your table from the following “known” tests. We will be performing the tests on: Glucose Proteins Vitamin C

7. Glucose “Known” test Set up 2 test tubes….. One containing control urine (yellow food coloring and water) and glucose urine. Add 2 mL of benedict’s solution to both and cook in a hot water bath for 5 minutes. Note the results.

8. Control is on the left and glucose urine is on the right.

9. Protein “Known” Test Set up 2 test tubes….. One containing control urine (yellow food coloring and water) and protein urine. Cook in a hot water bath for 5 minutes. After cooking, add one full pipette with vinegar. Note the results.
