Oregon HIDTA ISC Chris Gibson, Oregon HIDTA Director Return to Clackamas main page 2013 County Summary Summary In 2013, the largest proportion of arrests in Clackamas County was for methamphetamine, followed by arrests for heroin, marijuana, and cocaine. Total drug-related deaths and number of treatment admissions in the county were lower per capita when compared to other HIDTA areas and Oregon from 2006 to 2012, the most recent data available. Heroin comprised the largest number of related deaths and marijuana the largest number of admissions in the county in 2012. The number of indoor marijuana plants seized in Clackamas County rose over 30 percent from 2010 (700) to 2013 (928). Outdoor plants seized in the county in 2013 totaled 403. The number of medical marijuana cardholders reported in October 2013 (4,143) was more than five times the number in April 2006 (723). Arrests increased between 2006 and 2013 for heroin (530%), but dropped 53 percent for cocaine. Marijuana arrests rose twofold from 2006 to 2010, but declined by 2013. Return to arrests page

Drug admissions showing the sharpest increase between 2009 and 2012 were heroin (89%) and marijuana (54%), followed by methamphetamine (47%), cocaine (33%) and controlled prescription drugs (14%). Deaths related to methamphetamine use increased from five to seven in the county during the same period with six deaths reported in 2012.
