Project Requirements Total area of the house 1,100 square foot One story home Master bedroom with one queen bed ( with access to both sides of bed) and dresser. Bedroom for a thirteen years old girl. Bedroom for twin eight years old boys with twin beds. All bedrooms have at least one window and one closet.

1: Sustainable Site 1a: The landscape is simple and uncluttered to create a sense of spaciousness. 1b: The lawn or ground covering open with minimum watery plants. 1c: Asymmetrical landscaping at the front of the house. 1d: Shrubs at the side of the house so that the house will highlight in front. 1e: Tall trees at the back of the house.

2: Water Efficiency 2a: Creating a dry pond for storm water collection at the back of the house and can be used for gardening. 2b: Using water tap with low flow of water. 2c: Parquet, carpet floorings in the rooms to minimum the water use during cleaning. 2d: Sprinkle used in the garden/lawn. 2e: Drought tolerant plant like shrubs and trees over ornamentals and invasive can be planted which help to save water a lot.

3: Energy and Atmosphere 3a: Mechanical HVAC systems for all climate installed in all rooms. 3b: Trees planted in the garden provides cooling in summer and work as a wind break and warmer insulating during winter. 3c: Windows located at the east and south direction provide sunlight in the room. 3d: Sensor lights used outside the house. 3e: Energy Star qualified lights and appliances used.

4: Materials and Resources 4a: Kitchen cabinets made of pressed wood. 4b: Steels used for framing windows. 4c: Counter tops made from recycled glass tiles. 4d: Parquet made from bamboo. 4e: Certified carpets used in the rooms.

5: Indoor Environmental Quality 5a: Wall paints used with low or classified zero-voc ( volatile organic compound) paint. 5b: Inter-plants that help to increase indoor air quality. 5c: To control noise: sound absorbing materials like eco friendly drapes, sofa coverings, carpets. 5d: For adequate ventilation windows provided in the room. 5e: Chimney or exhaust fan to avoid smoke from kitchen.

6: Innovation and Design Process 6a: Reduction in water use. 6b: Asymmetric landscaping at the front of the house to save the existing tree. 6c: Most of the products used in the house are eco friendly. 6d: The house has sufficient resources to live a family with three kids. 6e: Use of rainwater by collecting at the back of the house.
