There is a heated debate topic on how to reduce human caused emissions of green house gases. Some of the main topics of the controversy include whether the climate is changing beyond natural variations based on past recorded temperatures, if humans are responsible for the increase and to what extent, the effect of predicted decrease in fossil fuels, the effectiveness of policies to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, the magnitude of future changes in climate, the regional effects of climate change and the consequences of climate change. Generally all the scientists agree that global warming is due to human activity such as deforestation and burning of fossil fuels. The debate is more on popular media and on policy level and the questions are on whether there is a scientific extent and rate on anthropogenic global warming. Some people even believe that the damage will be so severe from climate change that steps should be taken right away to try and reduce the cause of this problem.

Global warming is certainly an issue that is real because it is caused by a natural process but the seriousness of this issue is what is so controversial. Whether or not humans are the main cause it is still going to take a lot of work to get this to stop or at least reduce the problem. Humans should be trying to find more efficient ways to keep their homes and run their cars and burn less fossil fuel because they won’t be around forever and there doing much damage to their environment. Most of the time people don’t realize how bad something can be until they are actually facing the consequences for their actions. Now that the climate change is effecting the weather and causing natural disaster, hopefully people will realize that they need to figure out smarter and safer ways to live their life and get things done.

One of the main causes of sea level rising is polar ice caps. Experts worry about the ice caps completely melting but luckily the caps are so massive that they wouldn’t completely melt for centuries. The world isn’t concerned with polar ice caps melting because the increase isn’t dramatic but an increase of just three feet could put islands and coastlines of productive land underwater.

Make sure you re-cycle newspapers, glass bottles, tin cans, and magazines. Reuse your shopping bag plastic instead of getting new ones each time you go to the market. Donate unwanted clothes to people in need. Turn off the faucet when you are brushing your teeth. Walk or bike to school instead of driving. Turn off electrical devices (lights, fans, tv, computers, etc.) when they are not in use. Plant some plants or trees in your neighborhood. Do not litter. http://www.prlog.org/10015793-global-waming- prevention-your-personal-effort.html
