Possessive adjectives are used to express the idea of belonging and possession. My house means the house belonging to me, Your homework means the homework you are doing. We use possessive adjectives before nouns: my bookhis examtheir car

Possessive pronouns are also used to express possession and similar meanings. Notice these rules about possessive pronouns: 1. A possessive pronoun replaces a possessive adjective and a noun.. This is not my book. Mine is green. 2. Do not use its as a possessive pronoun. 3. A noun never follows a possessive pronoun.

We add ’s or ’ to show possession.. We use ’s with singular nouns or names. Examples: I went to Sam’s house. This is my friend’s garden.. We use ’ with plural nouns that end with s. Example: She borrowed her parents’ car.. We use ’s with plural nouns that do not end with s: Example: The children’s ball is over there. Many people’s jobs are difficult. Note: We add ’s to the last noun of a phrase. For example, Fatima is Sara and Deena’s mother.
