3 Ancient Greece Geography  Greece, a country in southeastern Europe whose peninsula extends from the Balkans into the Mediterranean sea is mountainous with many gulfs and bays. . Forests fill some areas of Greece. Much suitable, Greece is stony and only for pasturage, for growing wheat, citrus, and dates.

4 Ancient Greece religion  The Greek believed In multiple gods(polytheistic). They believed they controlled everything, there lives and environment.  There was a god for every aspect in life. It was important to please the gods; the happy gods would help you, and the unhappy gods would punish you.  They had a main or special temple Greeks would go to pray to the gods, there were statues of the gods In there own temples.  They believed that every god came from Gaia (the earth god), and Uranus (the sky god). Some Greek gods: Zeus( king of the gods)Poseidon, Hades, Aphrodite, Hestia, Hera, Ares, Apollo, Hermes, Hephaestus and Artemis.

5 Ancient Greek achievements  Democracy and so on. during the time of Pericles, quite some achievements took place. A man named Anaxagoras brought philosophy from Ionia to the Athens.  He tried to give a scientific account of eclipse, meteors, rainbows, and the sun. another achievement is the ability to collect his materials sympathetically narrative.  This was brought upon the culture by a man named Herodotus. Aeschylus wrote plays according to Aristotle. Theatre has been around for thousands of years.  And Aeschylus played, “the Persians”, taught us much about Greece back then.

6 Ancient Greece politics  There were three different types of government in ancient Greece: an oligarchy was governed by a few wealthy and powerful people, a monarchy was governed by one person, and a democracy when the citizens vote for who they wanted as their leader.  For public matters in ancient Greece citizens were only men who had Greek origin and were not slaves.

7 Ancient Greece Economics  There were many ‘ economies’ rather than a single ‘economy’ in the ancient Greece ( a culturally interlinked world. 800-300 B.C.E. stretching across the Mediterranean basin and around the black sea.)  Except the Athens, agriculture (cereals, olives, grapevines and the raising of small stock animals- sheep's, goats and pig.)predominated overtrade and industry an economic structure. The Greeks did not invent coinage rut spread it and embedded it, and although they were thoroughly familiar with the idea of markets and market prices they did not develop a market economy.
