All About Wetlands by Hannah L. and Melissa R. This presentation is about wetlands and water quality and how they help humans and animals.
2
Why are wetlands important? WETLANDS ARE IMPORTANT BECAUSE: –THEY PROVIDE OXYGEN. –HOMES FOR ANIMALS. –PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN FOOD CONTROL. –HELP REPLENISH UNDERGROUND WATER SUPPIES.
3

What is water quality? Water quality is the health of water. Water quality is important to us because it affects how plants and animals live, the animals affect how we live
6
Water and Air Temperature Water and air temperature affect the water and how much gas dissolves in the water or air. We test for this with a thermometer.
7
Turbidity Turbidity affects water quality because it does not allow light through, so plants can’t grow. We test for this with a pH stick.
8
Dissolved Oxygen Dissolved oxygen affects the water because the plants and animals need oxygen to live. We test for this with an ampoule.
9
Cloud Cover Cloud cover affects the water because UV rays damage aquatic life. We test for this by going outside and looking up.
