Sound energy (Energy of air) Moving air molecules closer together and farther apart – heard as sound – transmits energy. 6. Before Car Crash Car 1 possesses kinetic energy Car 2 possesses kinetic energy (exact amounts depend on their speeds and masses)

7. After Car Crash Both cars in accident ‘lost’ their kinetic energy Converted into other forms of energy: – lost as heat energy / sound energy – energy lost to crushing the metal (mechanical). The total energy before and after the crash is still the same, just in different forms.
