3 Day 1 Using Verbs with Singular and Plural Nouns  Find the verb that belongs in the sentence.  1. The soccer player (kick, kicks) the ball.  2. The soccer players (kick, kick) the ball.  3. My teacher (teach, teaches).  4. Teachers (teach, teaches).  5. He (talk, talks) on the cell phone.  6. They (talks, talk) on cell phones.

4 Day 2 Using Verbs with Singular and Plural Nouns  Review Rules on slide #2.  Choose the verb that belongs in the sentence.  1. A girl (mail, mails) the letter.  2. Two girls (mail, mails) the letter.  3. Grandma (like, likes) the letter.  4. Grandmas (likes, like) letters.  5. Her picture (make, makes) grandma happy.  6. Her pictures (make, makes) grandma happy.

5 Day 3 How to use Verbs with Singular and Plural Nouns  Directions: Complete each sentence with the best answer. 1.Jane (jump, jumps). 2.My classmates (jumps, jump). 3.Bill and Pat (jumps, jump). 4.Pat (jump, jumps). 5.The class (reads, read). 6.The girls (reads, read).

6 Day 4 How to use Verbs with Singular and Plural Nouns  Directions: Choose the verb that makes sense in each sentence.  Suzy (want, wants) to eat a burger. Toby and Coby (want, wants) to eat strawberry ice cream. Mike (want, wants) to order a milkshake. The boys (wants, want) to order lemonade.

7 Day 5 How to use Verbs with Singular and Plural Nouns  Remember our verb rules:  Do add an “s” to a verb that tells what one person or thing does.  Example: The woman drives a car. The lion roars. The lion roars.  Do not add an “s” to a verb that tells what more than one person or thing does. Example: Women drive cars.  Lions roar.
