3 STEM Project Fun with Foam  Have you ever thought about foam?  What do you think it is?  Can you think of different types of foam?  Where else might foam be useful?  Have a talk to someone and then... ...see if your ideas are the same as mine...see if your ideas are the same as mine

4 STEM Project Roles & Responsibilities  Administrator keeps a written and pictorial record for the group  Resource Manager collects, sets up and returns all equipment used by the group  Communications Officer collects the group’s ideas and reports back to the rest of the class.  Health and Safety Manager takes responsibility for the safety of the group, making sure everyone is working sensibly with the equipment  Personnel Manager takes responsibility for resolving disputes within the group and ensuring the team works together

6 STEM Project Making Foam  You need to come up with a method to make and measure foam  What's the best way to make foam?  How much bubble mixture should you add?  What do you do to make the froth appear?

15 STEM Project You will need  500ml bubble bath mixture  Cornflour  Salt  Hair gel  A teaspoon  Laminated card  A stop watch  Blu-Tack  6 disposable cups  Investigate the best way to change and measure the viscosity of the bubble bath mixture

16 STEM Project Things to think about  How much bubble bath mixture will you use each time?  How much thickener will you add?  How will you measure the thickness of the liquids?  Does the product you’re making look and feel pleasant to use? Would you buy it?  How will you record your results?
