Making a scrumptious banana cake is really very simple. Just go to Budgens and buy the ingredients, then bake and serve.
3
But if Budgens is closed, you will need to go around the world to get the ingredients you need. So go home, pack a suitcase, grab your shopping list and your walking boots.
4
Take a plane to Canada, to get your wheat to grind into flour. Take a break at Niagara Falls or at one of the 30,000 lakes.
5
Take a flight to Bogota, the capital city of Colombia. Pack your Spanish phrasebook, so you can speak to the local banana growers. Buy five bananas, then you have two for the cake and three to eat on the way to Madagascar.
6
Jump on a plane to Madagascar and enjoy the spectacular ride. You will need your recipe book and suitcase. Pack your wellies and raincoat, because it is rainy and sunny. Look for some vanilla vines and pick a pod of vanilla.
7
Take a cruise to Sri-Lanka, where the best cinnamon in the world grows. Scrape the bark off the Cinnamomum tree and take with you to Turkey.
8
Take a plane to Turkey. Wear shorts and a t-shirt and don’t forget sun cream and hat because it can be very hot in Turkey. Find a vineyard and pick some juicy grapes. Put the grapes in the sun to dry out and become sultanas. Now fly home.
9
On the way back from Heathrow airport stop by Russell Farms in Duxford. Pick up some sugar beet. Once this has been turned into sugar, you are ready to bake your cake.
