What You Need to Know

 Lose temporary access to your account  This could be for a day, a week or more. This applies for the entire campus and the entire day.  In this class, you would be assigned written work until your account is enabled again.  Lose access to the network for extended periods  From a six weeks to the rest of the year  Bookwork still applies in this classroom  You will also be held accountable by the District’s Discipline Management Plan, and the consequences it carries for your actions.

 It is a privilege, not a right.  We are not mandated to provide you with internet access. It is a learning tool that we offer to you. Abuse of this tool can and will result in its removal.  It is for educational use only.  No gaming, chatting, forum posts, e-mail, shopping, browsing, etc. allowed.  Your personal use will be limited to a few educational websites and homework-related purposes, outside of class assignment activities.

 The district has a filtering device that blocks access to inappropriate images and/or websites.  Attempting to bypass or disable the filtering device is a gross violation of the Acceptable Use Policy and will result in swift and immediate disciplinary action

 The Mrs. T Rule  Obscenity on the web happens, and sometimes it slips through the filter. This happens to you. What do you do? (A)Ignore it and quickly move on (B) Quietly alert all the people next to you so that they can see it too. (C) Quickly move on and tell Mrs. T what happened (D) Bookmark the website

 It is your responsibility to keep your password secure from other users. Giving your password to someone gives them the power to commit disciplinary infractions in your name.  You may not distribute personal information about yourself or others on the internet (i.e. chat rooms, forum posts) unless it has been approved by administration and is proven to be of academic importance.

 All internet usage is closely monitored. Daily, sometimes hourly, reports of visited sites and other data are pulled from across the district.  No student should access the internet without a staff member present.

 Do not  Hack  Create or upload a virus  Willfully destroy equipment  Damages done to equipment and the network system will result in disciplinary consequences, loss of your network privileges and will require restitution from you or your parents. You break it, you buy it.

 This is to release your photo or work on our school website. Examples include:  You create a great project for me and I want to post it so that the community can see it (you can also have friends and family log on as well)  We take a great sports shot or a team photo  You are student of the month, win the Nobel Prize, etc.  We snap a great shot of you in band, science lab, etc.  We will NOT post your full name. Just “Bob” or “Bob S.” or just initials “B.A.S.”
