5 The essential steps that should be considered are:  Identifying the hazards to health or safety  Deciding who might be harmed and how  Evaluating the risks  Decide whether existing precautions are adequate  Performing interviews of workers to confirm findings  Recording the findings  Reviewing the assessment and revise it if necessary 5
