Lessons in Leadership A godly leader must know how to pray Prayer is learned from a pray-er A godly leader seeks to pray face to face with God, relying on His direction and wisdom Friendship with God is what a godly leader builds
11
Lessons in Leadership When God’s leader prays, others will follow in prayer This concept is called modeling – that is that people do what people see or witness How to do this: – Separate your self [33:7] – Seek God with all of your heart – Pray in public [33:8] – Learn to hear and obey God’s voice – Enter into a covenant partnership with God [33:12-17]

The Lesson of Second Importance – Warfare (spiritual) The Amalekites were descendants of Esau They attacked the stragglers first and found them to be carrying great wealth Moses chose Joshua to lead the armies of Israel Moses allowed Joshua to pick his own troops Moses sent Joshua into the valley to fight and he went to the hill overlooking the battlefield He took two of his closest supporters with him, Aaron and Hur
13
The Lesson of Second Importance – Warfare (spiritual) Did Joshua have to fight? God gave His people a new name – Yahweh Nissi God wanted this event branded into the heart of Joshua
14
Lessons in Leadership Even when God promises victory, you still have to fight for it No leader can thrive without those who are close to him and on whom he can rely, just as Moses relied on Aaron and Hur Power that triumphs in spiritual warfare, is not the power of the general or the sword or an army, it is the power of God No matter how hard you fight, victories are won in the place of prayer
