AUTOMATIC PROCESS CONTROL IN THE CHEMICAL PROCESSINDUSTRY Client : College of the North Atlantic- Qatar Purpose: To study the principles of process control and operation of control valves, orifice flow meter, pump and heat exchanger etc. Plant Details: Operating Temperature: 50 o C Operating Pressure: atm. Feed flow rate: 15-76 lit/hr Unit included, two feed vessel of 60lit capacity each with 2 feed pumps, shell & tube heat exchanger and electric water heater. LIQUID-LIQUID EXTRACTION IN THECHEMICAL PROCESS INDUSTRY Client: College of the North Atlantic- Qatar Purpose: Study of hydrodynamics and mass transfer in liquid-liquid systems. Study of dispersed light phase operation. Study of extraction basics and the differing aspects of controlling a column extraction. Plant Details: Operating Temperature: 50 o C Operating Pressure: atm. WATER PURIFICATION IN THE CHEMICAL PROCESS INDUSTRY Client : College of the North Atlantic- Qatar Purpose: To study fundamentals of ion exchange and evaporation Plant Details: Operating Temperature: 60 o C Operating Pressure: 3 bar. g Raw water specifications: Total dissolved solid: 150 ppm, Total suspended solids:10 ppm, Total hardness: 90 ppm DM water flow rate: 475 lit/hr. Unit included: cartridge filter, activated carbon filter, cation & anion exchange resin bed, acid & DI water feed tank with pump, Preheater, condenser, evaporator, Acid and Alkali overflow tanks along with transfer pumps. Study of adverse effects on plant control (distillation control) with change in operating parameters (loss of reflux, changes to feed rate, loss of vacuum, changes to base temperature, etc). Plant Details: Operating Temperature: 150 o C Operating Pressure: 3.5 bar to full vacuum Fluid Compositions: Feed: 60% Ethylene Glycol Distillate: 99.5% Ethylene Glycol Bottoms: 93% Ethylene Glycol Unit Included: Feed vessel, preheater, distillation collumn with packing (MOC:SS316), thermosiphon reboiler, reflux drum with reflux pump, cooler, vacuum seal pot and vacuum pump. Xytel India Services Feasibility & Engineering Studies Apart from the main activity, we also undertake, as a pre-requisite for turnkey supply, a study to prepare pre-engineering document to convert bench / lab-scale data to into pilot / mini plant design when very little information about the process is available. This exercise is also useful for estimating the project cost enabling the client to arrive at an investment decision. Revamping Existing Units Xytel India offers specialized services to help clients revamp their existing pilot plant resources. AMC Services Xytel India also undertake Annual Maintenance Contracts for Pilot/ Mini Plants. Each AMC has a designated service engineer in lead role and services will include visits at a mutually decided frequency, normal & preventive maintenance operations, guidance & training for proper operation & maintenance of pilot plants. Automation of Pilot Plants Xytel India offers solution to PC/PLC based system to replace existing, stand alone control systems, PC based control systems.
