The Importance of the Truth And what happens when it is ignored

Truth is an absolute. Truth is never wrong. Truth will always be right. If followed, the truth will lead. The truth hurts.

Deuteronomy 32:4 “He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He.” God is characterized by truth. This passage was given in comparison to false gods who seemed to be a little or a lot deceitful at times.

Joshua 24:14 “Now therefore, fear the LORD, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the river and in Egypt. Serve the LORD”. Compare to John 4:24 need both spirit and truth to be acceptable to God. The spirit is the heart, and truth is the action.

1 Samuel 12:24 “Only fear the LORD, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.” Serve God from your heart. Keep in mind what God has done for you.

1 Kings 17:24 “The the woman said to Elijah, ‘now by this I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in your mouth is the truth’.” Miracles existed to confirm the word spoken by God’s spokespersons.

Psalm 25:10 “All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth, To such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.” Mercy and truth are OF the Lord. But only for those who keep His commands and testimonies. There is no mercy for those who disobey.

Psalm 33:4 “For the word of the LORD is right, and all His work is done in truth”. Everything God has ever said was the truth Everything God has ever done was to support the truth.

Psalm 86:11 “Teach me Your way, O LORD; I will walk in Your truth; United my heart to fear Your name.” This should be our response when God teaches us. To live in God’s ways. We should respect God and His name.

Psalm 100:5 “For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations”. The truth of God endures forever. Just like “there is nothing new under the sun”. His truth applies just as much to you and I as it did to Adam and everyone in between. The Bible is relevant No situation in life is uncovered

Psalm 119:142 “Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and your law is truth. If we obey God’s laws, we obey the truth. If we practice truth, we are considered obedient. Truth = commandments = word = law Truth – the standard of OUR judgment. John 12:48 the words of Jesus will judge us.

Psalm 119:160 “The entirety of your word is truth, and every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.” God determined before time began the standards and measures by which we will be saved or lost. That has never changed. Emphasis needs to be placed upon ALL the word of God.

Psalm 145:18 “The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. Jeremiah 29:13 Isaiah 55:6 A lot of people call on the Lord, but do not do so by the truth. To have the truth, one must believe, obey, live, practice and teach it. Anyone not obedient to truth cannot call uon God.

John 1:14 “And the WORD became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” Jesus was God The words of Jesus are the truth. We should honor His words as much as we honor Him as God.

John 4:23,24 “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” God is seeking those who will follow Him. Only true worshipers will worship in truth Spirit is the emotional Truth is the mechanical

John 8:32 “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” The truth being applied will bring about our salvation. The implication is that those who accept and practice the truth shall be free. Because many know the truth, but reject it—thus they are not free The limitation of freedom needs to be respected.

John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through Me.” Many accept Jesus as the way and the life And they ignore the truth in their service to God. Many try to worship God without the truth, Jesus, His plan, or His church.

John 16:13 “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come”. Compare John 12:49 Jesus and Holy Spirit came to do what they were instructed to do by God. Their message was the truth, and only the truth.

Romans 2:2 “But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such things.” Seems like everyone has their own standard of truth to measure themselves. God’s truth found in His word is the only truth that will judge us when it really counts.

Galatians 3:1 “O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified?” Any time we accept a lie in place of the truth, we stand condemned The truth is so simple—that even the most simple minded can understand it to know what the truth is.

Galatians 4:16 “Have I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth?” The truth makes you unpopular, But if you compromise truth, you can be friends to everyone. Paul was proud to be considered an enemy because he taught them the truth. If someone is mad at you for teaching the truth, they are at odds with God

1 Timothy 2:4 “who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” The knowledge of the truth will save But only if it is applied or followed. We can be saved if we submit to the truth. The fact that truth exists, does not save, only when obeyed.

2 Timothy 2:15 “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Study of God’s word is only way we are going to learn God’s word. We need to apply ALL diligence or effort in studying God’s word We must know that our actions are according to the truth Otherwise we could be lost forever.

God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit is truth God’s word is truth Commandments of God are truth Church supports the truth. Truth will judge us.
