3 What is hunting? Hunting has two working definitions – Hunting is a sport (animals are scouted and killed for the enjoyment) – Hunting is a means of survival or a main source of food

4 Why is it legal to hunt? Without hunting there would be a large overpopulation of deer – This would not be good for deer or the environment

5 Some Common laws Must wear blaze orange when walking through woods Can shoot between the times of 30 min before sunrise and 30 min after sunset No spotlighting after 11p.m. Illegal to hunt with a light of any kind Illegal to shoot toward from or across any road
