* Brian Jones died in 1969, Ronnie Wood (guitar) joined in 1975 & Bill Wyman quit in 1993 * members included Mick Jaggar (vocals), Keith Richards (guitar), Charlie Watts (drums), Bill Wyman (guitar) & Brian Jones (bass/keyboard) * The Rolling Stones formed in London 1962

* Had an unkept & surly image that rock stars still emulate today * 1989 Inducted into Rock n Roll Hall of Fame * #4 in Rolling Stone magazine “100 Greatest Rock Artists of All-Time” * The Rolling Stones have sold more than 600 million albums

* During their 2 nd US Tour they performed on the Ed Sullivan Show * The Stones were seen as the “anti-Beatles” * June 1964, 1 st US Tour did not go too well (they did not have a hit song going for them like the Beatles) * Autumn of 1964, 2 nd US Tour went much better.

* 1965 I Can’t Get No Satisfaction * 1967 Mick Jaggar & Keith Richards both arrested for possession of “hash” * 1966 Paint It Black (use of exotic instruments) * 1 st big hit in the US 1965 The Last Time

* 1981 Start Me Up * They have broken all concert touring records in terms of sales * The Rolling Stones were heavily influenced by the blues based R&B sound * The Rolling Stones had hits into the 1980’s

* And YES, they are STILL touring today * Current Rolling Stones are Mick Jaggar, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts & Ronnie Wood
